Reasons to be Excited about Autumn

Autumn is officially here, or at least that what the calendar says. Autumn is the season of new beginnings: usually – at least in almost all European countries – we start school or Uni in September / October, the weather changes and so on. So just in case you are sad that summer is gone, here are some reasons to be excited about autumn’s arrival. Also, summer will be back in year or so, don’t panic.

5 Reasons to be Excited about Autumnreasons to be excited about autumn

1. The colours

Autumn is the only season when we get to see so many beautiful colours around us. The variety of golden leaves on the ground, the ones that are still green and so on. Although the nature is “dying” I find a lot of comfort in this season.

2. The fashion

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I love the beige/maroon suede ankle boots, hats of hand bags. Not to mention about purple lipstick or gold eye shadow.

Also you can wear a leather jacket or maybe just a T-shirt without sweating like a pig or being too cold.

3. The harvest

I think that beside winter (when everything is frozen, including myself), each season brings its own gifts of nature. I love grapes, plums and pumpkin. And pumpkin pie is one of my favourite desserts.

My grandparents grow grapes and each September we gather the whole family to harvest them and we make wine out of it. How cool is that?! Not to mention that the wine is unbelievable tasty!

4. The holidays

I know that people go crazy over Thanksgiving in the US, but we don’t celebrate such thing here. We do have a couple of national holidays during autumn which is great. Also when the national holidays are around the corner, winter is coming – including Christmas.

5. The perfect weather

From my point of view, Spring and Autumn are the best seasons when it comes to weather. Summer is too hot and winter too cold. Or at least where I live is like that.

Autumn has the perfect balance. You can still wear T-shirts and skirts or boots and a blazer if you feel like. The weather will give you infinite options.

Fall is my ALL TiME FAVORITE! I can’t wait to bust out all the layers, and my plaid, and my booties! I’m ready! I live in California, and we don’t get seasons, but its nice to pretend. hahaha

    • I’m so sorry you don’t have seasons in California, they are amazing!

  • Yes to all of these! I love fall!

  • Lauren Norton

All of these are so true! I can’t wait to break out my comfy open sweaters!

  • Fall fashion is the best — and I love all your other choices, too. I <3 Autumn :)

  • Lisa

I love decorating for fall and that it is so close to Christmas which is my favorite! :)

  • Fall fashion is what I love! I agree that spring and fall have the best weather! It’s usually so mellow!

  • Yes, yes, and yes!! I love the colors so much! The crunchy leaves, the brightly colored trees, the reds, oranges, and yellows. I am wearing my boots today for the first time this season, because this morning it was rather chilly outside! Bring on autumn (but winter can stay away for awhile longer)!

    • Still nice and warm here, but I can’t wait to wipe up the dust from my boots as well.

  • Rachel Golden

I LOVE autumn. Everything about it. You list is spot on, but I especially love Halloween in the fall. The end of October is when things start getting a lot chillier and everything has a spooky tinge to it. I love the season! But yes, besides that, I love suede ankle boots! So cute :)

    • We don’t celebrate Halloween here, or is not such a big deal.

  • OH MY GOSH, like I needed REAONS to be excited about Fall! ;) Where in Europe do you live?!?! I would probably sell my soul to move to Europe, but celebrating Fall without Thanksgiving would be so weird! :) Although, that Boxing Day in England sounds like it might be nice. haha

    • I live in eastern side of Europe. St. Andrew’s day is quite a thing around here.

  • I love the fall because of Halloween and Thanksgiving and of course the fashion. Fall colors look great with my skin tone so I’m ready to rock them :)

  • Shani Ogden

I’m excited for fall, especially because I love layers and sweatshirts!

    • Layers are amazing! I love them too.

  • yes to all of this. ALL OF IT. I’m so excited for the weather and fashion. Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving the month before our American neighbours (beginning of October) and it is one of the nicest weekends of the entire year!

Can’t wait for a cooler breeze (it’s way too hot right now) and pretty colours!
